Working closely with the MC fashion team and stylist Leslie Fremar on the cover shoot, Ashley brought to life her vision of a light and airy yet intimate portrait—a sweet escape from dark economic times. Antiqued silk and lace lingerie were a nod to the 1930s, while nubby sweaters kept the looks grounded in modernity. Vintage-inspired jewelry and a simple, understated color palette were in keeping with the rule of the day: Less is more.
